Hey there.. I'm Erin! Creator, owner, & editor of My VIPKid Journey. I have been teaching English online with VIPKid for years now and created this site to share my own VIPKid journey as well as coach others through the company’s hiring process and beyond. I am also a Club Orange member, a recognition given to the top 5 VIPKid referring teachers/hiring-help mentors!
In the near future, I hope to feature how others utilize this brilliant platform to take control of their own life journey. In addition to managing the My VIPKid Journey website, I create VIPKid related videos on my YouTube channel, VIPKID Teacher Erin, and help run a couple Facebook groups, VIPKID Hiring Q & A, + VIPKID teacher Q & A.
A little more about me; I grew up on the east coast of Central Florida and graduated from Florida State University with a bachelor's degree in Art. I focused in graphic design but spent most of my time there practicing and performing with the on-campus circus. Yes, I was in a circus, ha! After graduating, I struggled to find a job and had to go back to waitressing for a while (my go-to college gig). It wasn't until I discovered VIPKid that I was able to take back my time, happiness, and freedom. Now I can work when I want, where I want, and as much as I want! I love to travel, cook yummy plant-based food, and hang out with my cat, Cal.
Hello! I am Teacher Sydney, a contributor here at My VIPKid Journey! Erin and I are longtime friends, so when I heard her talk about VIPKid, I knew it was time to start my own VIPKid journey. I am here to help give back for all the wonderful advice Erin gave me, by helping out others in the community and occasionally contributing to the My VIPKid Journey Teacher's Blog & Erin’s YouTube channel. I also help out a lot answering questions on our Facebook groups and have most recently opened an online Teacher Store called the Five Apple Shop. Check it out! I make and sell custom Teacher shirts, mugs, classroom packs, and other fun teacher necessities!
My personal VIPKid journey started after I graduated from the University of South Florida with a bachelor of arts in Psychology. I started graduate school at the University of Central Florida to pursue my Master of Social Work degree and I was struggling to find a work/life/school balance. Did I mention I also live with multiple chronic illnesses? Finding time to work a “normal” job and still have time to live my life was exhausting and my health was deteriorating. I had many people tell me, “Oh, that’s grad school for ya!” But, I knew there had to be a better way! Thus, when Erin told me about VIPKid, I jumped at the opportunity. I have been teaching with VIPKid since January 2018 and I will NEVER look back. I quit my retail job, have more time for myself and my school work, and I am far healthier!
Hey guys! Teacher Andrea here, guest blogger extraordinaire for My VIPKID Journey! You can mainly find me on one of our facebook groups and occasionally right here on the blog!
I am proof that facebook ads DO actually work. I was in between jobs after moving to a new state and decided to check out VIPKID to fill my time and earn some extra money.I chose Erin to be my referring teacher after finding her youtube channel and I passed all my hiring process steps with flying colors. I've loved being a VIPKID teacher ever since.
I graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science in Plant and Soil Science and ended up in Orlando, Florida working in hospitality (we're talking like a VIP Tour Guide for one of the theme parks). I now am happily full time employed in Missouri and still using this little 'side hustle' to pay for my upcoming wedding!
Hi! I’m Teacher Las (Lasairfhiona). You will find me answering questions in our supportive Facebook groups. I’m originally from Ireland but ended up in America three years ago, after falling in love with a boy. After we moved multiple times because of his career, I turned online to look for remote work.
VIPKID was top of my list. Even though I was a teacher back home, I hadn’t taught since moving to the US. I was missing the kids! Teacher Erin coached me through the hiring process, and I’ve been a VIPKID teacher since August 2018.
I thought VIPKID was going to be temporary, but it is the perfect job for me! The flexibility is unbeatable - I can go visit family abroad for as long as I want, and not have to quit my job! Don’t get me started on teaching in a onesie...
My only regret is not starting sooner! I’m loving teaching again.
